Too Many Friends on Facebook?

Last year, the Economist ran an article saying that basically primates can really only have meaningful friendships with 100-200 people maximum, beyond that our brains can't compute.

It appears Facebook thinks the threshold is MUCH higher. According to a recent NYT article, some Facebook high rollers have hit 5,000 friends at which point Zuckerberg et al step in and say "no more."

Wow, the most I`ve ever seen like 1,000 or so from kids who went to camp a lot.
