Lady Gaga in Vanity Fair

Lady Gaga has done it again - she's totally re-invented her look for the cover of this month's Vanity Fair. I think it looks 70s-ish with a splash of wizard thrown in.

I once interviewed with a woman who looked like Lady Gaga, or really a lawyerly version of Lady Gaga. I managed to not mention how much I thought she looked like Lady Gaga in the interview. Phew...!

Snoop Dogg tried to rent Liechtenstein

Oh man, I've always found Liechtenstein hilarious for some reason. The only times it's ever really come up are (1) a case in international law class, (2) when Switzerland accidentally invaded them, and (3) when my friend Jeff told me that he's been there and they have a Hooters.

Naturally, I'm happy to report (4) Snoop Dogg tried to rent the entire country for one of his video shoots. Even funnier, it probably would have worked, if he had just given them enough time.

Madonna for Interview Magazine Photoshoot

This video is floating around the inter-webs. It's a behind-the-scenes of Madonna's cover and photo-shoot for Interview Magazine's May issue. The Queen of Pop reportedly ditched airbrushing for the black-and-white photos, which is tres popular in Hollywood these days.

In the magazine, Madonna was interviewed by American director, Gus Van Sant, in which she reveals she is concentrating on her film career over music, having spent the last two-and-a-half years writing a film about the British monarchy.

The video is okay, but I LOVE the song. I looked it up: "Revolver" is the second single by Madonna from her third greatest hits album, entitled “Celebration”.

Countess LuAnn de Lesseps

OMG this is the worst/best thing I've heard in ages! Countess LuAnn de Lesseps of the Real Housewives of New York has put out the most unintentionally hilarious dance single.

You can hear it here. Oh man, she also has this awesome website.

Jezebel describes it best:
"Real Housewife LuAnn De Lesseps has officially entered the musical canon with her new song, 'Money Can't Buy You Class.' Simply put, it's a masterwork of spoken-word WASPiness and forceful autotuning."

Oh also, remember Kim Zolciak's single Tardy for the Party? That was good, too.

And, don't forget Jo de la Rosa - "You Can't Control Me."

Courtney Love aka Courtney Michelle

More from Courtney Love aka Courtney Michelle. I came across another interview with her by Darryl Sterdanm of QMI Agency. Full interview here.

By the way, my bf Nicki tells me the new Hole album is amazing. I've yet to listen to it, but I trust Nicki's taste.

Here's an excerpt:
"And like a hurricane or a tornado, you can't fully appreciate it until you've survived the experience, hanging on for dear life while the storm blows past... Courtney talked about anything, everything, and sometimes nothing in particular. Buddhism, booze, her boobs and yes, Bette Davis — they were all part of her rapid-fire, stream-of-consciousness monologue, along with discourses on sex, drugs, rock ’n’ roll, fame, fortune and fashion. Names were dropped. Grievances aired. Confessions made. Most of my questions went unasked. The ones I could wedge in sometimes went unanswered. And a publicist's futile attempts to get Love to move on to her next interview were swatted away like so many pesky flies, lost in Courtney's swarm of words."

Here is a clip of Hole live playing a song from their new record:

Courtney Michelle

The National Post (of all places) picked up a story that ran in Britain’s NME Magazine.

The artist formerly known as "Courtney Love" is reverting back to her real name. “We’ve all decided we don’t like her anymore,” she told NME Magazine. “The name Courtney Love, it feels like I’ve outgrown it.”

She now wants to be referred to as Courtney Michelle. (Her birth name is Courtney Michelle Harrison.) She is touring with her band Hole and promoting their new album, Nobody’s Daughter.

Robyn - "None of Dem", "Fembot", and "Dancehall Queen"

Hat tip to my girl, Nicki, for showing me that the first THREE tracks of Robyn's album are now available on Pitchfork. You can hear "None of Dem", "Fembot", and "Dancehall Queen" here.
