Japanese Girl Drafted into Minor Leagues

18-year-old Eri Yoshida might not pitch for the Chico Outlaws until late May, but when she does, she will become the first female to play professionally in America since 1997 - and as a female knuckleballer, she is a baseball rarity.

This is so cool! It reminds me of my childhood hero Manon Rhéaume who is a goalie best known for being the first and only woman to play in an NHL exhibition game. I had a giant poster of her on my closet door growing up.
